Navigating the end of a year when you run a business

2 working weeks left of 2020 and I for one am ready to end the year STRONG.

With the product range launching and a lot of 2020 reflecting / 2021 planning happening in both mine and my clients businesses, the next 2 weeks are full on. And honestly, I like it that way. There’s something I find incredibly satisfying about a sprint finish before the Christmas break, but it hasn’t always been that way…

Navigating the end of a year when you run a business isn’t easy so I thought I’d share a few things I wish I’d known about ending the working year well:

✖️REFLECT - Reviewing a whole year, let alone one like 2020 can feel overwhelming, but taking a step back to reflect on what the year has held will massively support you in stepping into the next one with intention. If you don’t know how to do this, I’ll be hosting a guided reflection via LIVE this Friday at 3pm. Bring a notebook!

✖️TAKE A BREAK - Christmas is the easiest time of year to take off (esp if you’re service based) and giving yourself permission to have a break is *so* important. If you haven’t done so yet, pick your dates and communicate them to the relevant people - I promise people won’t hate you for it!!

✖️2021 GOALS?! - You don’t need to set 37 huge and specific goals for 2021, in fact I’d actively discourage that. What I would encourage you to do is to spend some time thinking about how you want your business to look and feel by the end of the year - reconnect to the big picture and the goals / plans will follow.

I could say a lot more but they’re definitely my main three - any you’d add to the list? I’d love to know!
