What I do for self care

Anyone else finding this lockdown a tough one? I used to see self care as an added extra but right now it is SO needed to keep me sane and able to bring my best to work.

It almost feels like each morning the ‘how ok do I feel’ counter is set back to 0 and it’s only through exercising the right habits that I can keep it topped up to the 10/10 way I want to feel.

For me that looks like
✔️Going on a daily walk - this pic^ was taken after today’s
✔️Eating food that makes me feel good
✔️Trying to end the day screen free
✔️Doing a breathing exercise before bed (YouTube ‘wim hof’)
✔️Taking more breaks in my day
✔️Occupying my evenings with trash TV, not work
✔️Appreciating all I’ve achieved in the day
✔️Doing ‘small win’ tasks (eg - water a plant)

How about you? Anything you’re doing which is keeping you topped up right now?

I have to keep reminding myself why it’s important to do these things (they don’t always feel like what you ‘want’ in the moment!) so I hope this post gives you that nudge💛
